Here is the truth folks... more and more art is being made overseas, be it jewelry, glass, paintings, pottery etc. We try to stay focused on NW art and artists (except for the jewelry). If you have been to Costco, Ross's, Macy's or any other large chain you will find blown glass for $10. and up. Yes, Americans have gone to China and are teaching them how to blow glass. The prices for these pieces is KILLING the market for our artists. So much so that some artists are now having their designs made there so they can compete in todays market. What worries me as more and more artists are doing this to make a living how can the small arts and crafts galleries like ours survive???? What are your thoughts and ideas?
